Apple is not pitching beta 2 as a major feature drop. Expect the usual mix of bug fixes, performance tuning, and stability work as the 26.4 update takes shape.
So far, iPadOS 26.4’s headline additions across the cycle include updates in core apps and system areas, such as:
- Apple Music changes, including a refreshed look in parts of the app, an AI playlist tool, concert information, and better playlist management
- Safari’s compact tab bar option returning
- A revamped wallpaper gallery
- A new “Urgent” smart list in Reminders
- A new Home Screen widget tied to Ambient Music
- Upgrades related to video in Podcasts
- New features in Freeform tied to Creator Studio
There is also continued attention on items expected later in the 26.4 cycle, including new emoji additions that may show up during beta testing.
