tvOS 26.4 Beta 2 Now Rolling Out to Developers

tvOS 26.4 beta 1 now available for Apple TV developers

Apple has shipped tvOS 26.4 beta 2 to developers, keeping the 26.4 test cycle moving. Apple seeded the first developer beta about a week ago, and this second build continues the usual cadence of incremental updates.

The new beta is available through the Apple Developer program and arrives as build 23L5219e, dated February 23, 2026.

Beta 2 looks like a typical mid-cycle release, which usually means small fixes and under-the-hood changes rather than a long list of new user-facing features.

How to update

  • Open Settings on Apple TV
  • Go to System
  • Select Software Updates
  • Choose Get Beta Updates (or Beta Updates, depending on model)
  • Pick the tvOS Developer Beta, then download and install

If you do not already see the beta option, make sure Apple TV is signed in with the Apple Account linked to the developer program.

Changes in tvOS 26.4 so far

The most visible change reported so far is Apple’s move to fully remove the standalone iTunes TV Shows and iTunes Movies apps from Apple TV in tvOS 26.4.

tvOS 26.4 also introduces a new HDMI audio option called Continuous Audio Connection. It aims to keep the audio handshake steady, which can help with dropouts and format switching issues in some home theater setups, including certain receiver and speaker combinations.

Beyond that, beta 2 appears focused on polish. Apple has not highlighted major new features alongside this seed, and the expectation is the same familiar mix of performance improvements and bug fixes.

If you spot anything new in tvOS 26.4 beta 2, drop it in the comments and share what changed on your Apple TV.
