Apple has released watchOS 26.4 public beta 2, expanding the 26.4 testing cycle to anyone enrolled in the public beta program. The update lands one day after Apple shipped the second developer beta.
The new build is 23T5221e. If you already run public beta 1, you should see this as a normal over the air update.
This release looks like a typical mid-cycle beta: a small step forward that aims to tighten stability, polish the interface, and keep the bigger changes on schedule for later builds.
How to update to watchOS 26.4 public beta 2
- Charge your Apple Watch to at least 50% and keep it on the charger.
- Keep your iPhone nearby and connected to Wi-Fi.
- On your iPhone, open the Watch app.
- Go to General → Software Update.
- Turn on Beta Updates (if you have not already).
- Download and install watchOS 26.4 Public Beta 2.
Tip: beta installs can take a while because the Watch also needs time to prepare the update.
Changes in beta 2
One feature Apple has already tied to the watchOS 26.4 cycle is a new Average Bedtime metric inside sleep features, with data syncing to the Health app.
Beyond that, early installs point to smaller refinements rather than big new features, including subtle animation and UI tuning in parts of the system.
If you spot anything new in watchOS 26.4 public beta 2, drop it in the comments and share what changed on your Watch.
