Apple CEO Tim Cook says the iPhone will continue to play a central role in people’s lives, even as the company explores new technologies like augmented reality and AI-driven devices. His comments come at a time when Apple is expanding into areas beyond smartphones, yet the iPhone still drives the company’s biggest success.
Cook made it clear that Apple sees more room for growth with the iPhone, both in terms of features and how people use it every day. He believes the device will remain essential, supported by a mix of hardware, software, and services that work together to improve the user experience.
Speaking in an interview with YouTuber Nikias Molina at New York’s Grand Central Terminal, Cook said, “There’s so much left that we can do with the iPhone. I think it’s going to continue to be the center of people’s digital lives.”
iPhone demand continues to grow
Apple’s recent performance supports Cook’s view, as iPhone revenue reached $85.2 billion last quarter, marking a new all-time high for the company. Cook described the demand as “simply staggering,” with strong sales across every region.
The iPhone is also approaching a major milestone, as it turns 20 next year, yet its popularity continues to rise instead of slowing down. Apple sees this as a sign that the device still holds strong value in a rapidly changing tech landscape.
Cook also spoke about Apple’s broader vision, saying the company’s strength comes from its people and focus on simplicity. He said Apple’s future products will continue to reflect that approach.
On artificial intelligence, Cook stressed the importance of keeping users at the center of development. He said, “If you’re always trying to enrich the life of someone else, then you keep them at the center.”
Apple plans to continue its global anniversary events, highlighting both its history and future direction while reinforcing the iPhone’s long-term role.
