Apple Releases iPadOS 26.4 With AI Playlists and Multitasking Updates

iPadOS 26.4 Beta 1 Now Available for Developers

Apple has released iPadOS 26.4 for all compatible iPads. The update is rolling out now through Software Update, and it brings a mix of new Apple Music features, fresh emoji, app improvements, and a few useful quality-of-life changes across the system.

One of the biggest highlights is Apple Music, which gets Playlist Playground for AI playlist creation, a redesigned full-screen look for albums and playlists, and concert discovery tools. Apple Podcasts also adds better video podcast support, while Safari, Reminders, the TV app, and Freeform pick up smaller but welcome upgrades.

If you use your iPad for multitasking, iPadOS 26.4 also adds a new Hidden Windows popup to help you keep track of open windows. Apple has also added two new Ambient Music widgets for the Home Screen and updated the wallpaper gallery.
