WhatsApp Tests Liquid Glass Voice Note Player for iOS App Redesign

WhatsApp iOS new Profile

WhatsApp is continuing work on its upcoming Liquid Glass interface for iOS. The company has started refining key features as it prepares for a broader rollout of the new design. Recent updates show that WhatsApp is focusing on improving how voice messages work within this refreshed interface.

WABetaInfo reports that the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS includes references to a redesigned voice note player. The updated player uses Liquid Glass elements, which match Apple’s latest design language. The new look features a floating and translucent style that blends with the app’s interface.

WABetaInfo notes that this design allows users to keep listening to voice messages without visual interruption. The updated playback bar aims to improve clarity and make controls easier to use while staying consistent with the overall interface.

Currently, when users play a voice message and leave the chat, WhatsApp shows a banner at the top of the screen. This banner includes basic controls such as a progress bar, play or pause button, and an option to stop playback. The new design plans to replace this with a more integrated and visually consistent player.

WABetaInfo also reports that the feature is still under development and is not available to beta testers yet. This suggests that WhatsApp is still testing and refining the experience before a full release.

The Liquid Glass redesign first appeared in limited testing last year. However, most users still see the older interface. These updates show that WhatsApp is taking a gradual approach to ensure the final design feels smooth and native on iOS.
