Apple’s 20th anniversary iPhone is back in the rumor cycle, and this time the focus is on a more dramatic redesign that pushes the iPhone closer to an all-screen look while trimming the bezels even further.
According to a new claim circulating on social media, the device could feature an ultra-thin 1.1mm border around the display and a curved design that makes the front glass and frame look more seamless from edge to edge. If that happens, Apple would move another step toward the clean, uninterrupted screen design it has chased for years.
X user @phonefuturist shared the latest claims in two posts, and the account suggested Apple is exploring a more aggressive hardware direction for what it described as the “anniversary” iPhone.
“Apple tried using Samsung’s UPC instead of UDC to achieve full screen but the camera quality is still not good better than UDC. So the XX might come with a smaller dynamic island than even the 18 Pro or a punch hole and Samsung’s polar ID.”
Long-Going Rumor
The source does not have an established track record, so this report needs caution from the start. Even so, the idea of a “seamlessly aligned” anniversary iPhone fits the broader long-term push toward an all-screen model with fewer visible display interruptions.
That is where the camera challenge comes in, because under-display solutions still struggle to match the image quality of traditional front-facing cameras. The rumor says Apple tested Samsung’s UPC system, but the quality still fell short, which is why a smaller Dynamic Island or even a punch-hole cutout remains part of the discussion.
If Apple cannot solve the front camera issue in time, a reduced cutout looks like the most realistic path. That would still let Apple deliver slimmer bezels, a more curved shape, and a design that feels more futuristic without forcing a compromise that hurts camera performance. For now, this remains an early iPhone 20 rumor, but it shows where expectations for Apple’s 2027 anniversary model are heading.
