Apple drops Studio Display XDR price by $400 for VESA mount buyers

Apple Introduces Apple CMF 2026 Color System for Studio Display XDR

Apple has quietly reduced the price of the Studio Display XDR for users who choose the VESA mount option, bringing the starting price down to $2,899 from the earlier $3,299, which now makes the display more appealing for buyers who already use a monitor arm or wall mount and do not need Apple’s built-in stand.

Apple fixes pricing mismatch

When the Studio Display XDR launched, Apple priced both the tilt-adjustable stand version and the VESA mount version at the same $3,299, and that decision did not sit well with many buyers since the VESA mount is a simpler attachment compared to a fully adjustable stand that supports tilt and height adjustments.

Now, Apple has corrected that pricing by cutting $400 from the VESA variant, while the stand version continues to start at $3,299, which aligns better with how most premium displays price their mounting options.

Apple has also updated its buying process on its website, where users now choose the stand option first instead of the glass type, which makes the lower $2,899 entry price visible immediately and helps buyers understand the pricing difference before moving forward.

The nano-texture VESA version has also dropped to $3,199, maintaining the same $400 gap across configurations.

The standard Studio Display has not received any price change, as both its VESA and tilt stand models remain at $1,599, leaving the XDR model as the only one with a rare early price adjustment.
