Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a class action lawsuit tied to delayed Apple Intelligence Siri features, and some iPhone users in the U.S. will soon be able to claim payouts of up to $95 per device. However, the payment will not arrive automatically because eligible users must submit a claim within a limited time window once the settlement website goes live.
The lawsuit focused on Apple’s promotion of advanced Siri features during WWDC 2024 and the iPhone 16 launch cycle. Apple showed Siri understanding personal context, reading information from apps like Mail and Messages, and handling more advanced in-app actions. The company promoted those features across keynote presentations, its website, and television ads featuring actor Bella Ramsey.
Things changed in March 2025 when Apple officially delayed the personalized Siri experience, leading to accusations that the company had advertised features that were not ready for release. Apple later agreed to settle the lawsuit while continuing development of the delayed Siri upgrades.

Eligible users must live in the U.S. and must have purchased one of these iPhone models between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025:

- iPhone 16e
- iPhone 16 Plus
- iPhone 16 Pro
- iPhone 16 Pro Max
According to settlement details, Apple expects to identify eligible customers by June 22, 2026, while customer notifications should begin by August 7, 2026. The final deadline to file a claim is expected to be November 6, 2026, giving users roughly 90 days to complete the process after receiving notification.
Each approved claim currently carries a payout of $25 per device, although that number can rise to as much as $95 if fewer people file claims than expected. Apple has not launched the settlement website yet, so users do not need to take any action right now.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said the delayed personalized Siri experience will launch later this year, with the features expected to arrive in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. Reports also suggest Apple is working on a dedicated Siri app as part of its broader AI plans.
