Apple Raises Mac mini M4 Pro Price by $200 Amid Rising Component Costs

Apple's $599 Mac Mini Sees Sales Boost From OpenClaw AI Trend

Apple has increased the starting price of the Mac mini with the M4 Pro chip by $200, pushing the higher-tier model to $1,599 on its online store. The same model launched in October 2024 at $1,399, so the latest change makes the compact desktop more expensive for users who want Apple’s stronger Pro-level performance.

The price hike appears linked to rising memory and storage costs across the tech industry, as rapid growth in AI data centres has increased demand for key components. Apple had already changed the Mac mini lineup in May by removing the $599 model with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, although that configuration has now returned while the $799 starting price remains.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple said it had reached a point where price increases were necessary because component costs rose sharply and quickly.

Apart from the higher prices, Apple made no other major changes to the Mac lineup.
