Apple plans to release the first iOS 27 public beta this week, giving more users a chance to test the update before its wider launch later this year. The timing matches Apple’s earlier promise to begin public beta testing in July.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple will also release the first public betas of macOS Golden Gate and other upcoming operating systems during the same period.
“The first public betas are coming this week, I’m told. As of now, I’m not seeing any noticeable quirks, and these updates feel quite a bit snappier and more reliable than their predecessors,” Gurman wrote.
The main new feature is Siri AI, which requires an iPhone 15 Pro or a newer model. Apple also uses a waitlist for access, so users may not receive the feature immediately after installing the beta.
Gurman described iOS 27 as a stability-focused release with smoother performance, fewer bugs, and limited visual changes.
