Apple has raised iPhone prices in Japan by up to 11%, with the changes affecting the iPhone 17 lineup, iPhone Air, iPhone 17e, and iPhone 16. The new pricing took effect today and adds between ¥8,000 and ¥20,000 to the cost of selected models.
The iPhone Air received the largest percentage increase, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max saw the biggest increase in yen. Apple has not explained the change, although the weak Japanese yen appears to be the main reason behind the revised prices.

Japan’s currency recently fell to one of its weakest levels in decades, reducing the dollar value of Apple’s local sales. Apple also faces higher component costs, which already pushed the company to raise Mac and iPad prices last month.

Other countries are unlikely to see the same increases if Apple adjusted Japan’s prices mainly because of currency changes. The company may share more details during its fiscal third-quarter earnings call on July 30.
