Criston Cole’s Final Battle
The episode begins with Criston Cole facing a Tully ambush in the Riverlands. He survives the first attack, but soon discovers that Roddy the Ruin, Oscar Tully and a much larger army have surrounded his remaining soldiers.
Criston challenges the opposing leaders to single combat, hoping to die like an honourable knight. Instead, archers shoot him several times, including once in the face. He dies with a small keepsake from Alicent tied around his sword, bringing his long and destructive journey to an abrupt end.
The scene carries emotional weight, although the episode quickly moves to several other conflicts without giving Criston’s death much time to settle.
Rhaenyra Sends Alicent After Aemond
Rhaenyra’s position in King’s Landing continues to weaken. Her council remains divided, the Gold Cloaks abandon their duties and the smallfolk become increasingly frustrated with her rule.
Alicent and Helaena are discovered after their attempted escape. Helaena’s condition worsens during their confinement, but her visions reveal that Aemond is hiding at Harrenhal.
Alicent shares this information with Rhaenyra, hoping to protect her daughter. However, Rhaenyra decides to send Alicent to Harrenhal with a single fighter who can assassinate Aemond without warning him about an approaching army.
Trouble Grows Across Westeros
Daemon searches King’s Landing for traitors while struggling to control the remaining Gold Cloaks. He also discovers Ulf ignoring Rhaenyra’s orders, showing that the Dragonseeds are becoming harder to manage.
Meanwhile, Gwayne Hightower reaches Tumbleton and saves Daeron from a failed assassination attempt organised by Rhaenyra. Daeron appears to understand Ormund’s ambitions, although he continues pretending to support him.
At Harrenhal, Alys Rivers keeps Aemond close by revealing a hidden collection of dragon eggs. Rhaena also continues searching for her sister after spotting Moondancer in the Vale.
The episode ends with Corlys Velaryon and his men being attacked by Ormund’s soldiers. Corlys collapses after being choked, but the scene does not confirm whether the Sea Snake is dead.
Episode 6 moves nearly every storyline forward, although the number of characters and locations makes several important moments feel rushed. With Criston gone, Corlys in danger and Alicent heading toward Harrenhal, the final two episodes have several conflicts to resolve.
What do you think will happen when Alicent reaches Aemond, and do you believe Corlys survived the ambush? Let us know in the comments.
