Apple reportedly crossed $10 billion in annual sales in India for the first time during its latest fiscal year, marking a major milestone for the company in one of the world’s fastest-growing consumer markets.
Bloomberg reports that Apple’s revenue in India grew at a double-digit rate during the 12 months through March, rising from about $9 billion in the previous year. The iPhone generated most of the sales, while demand for MacBooks and iPads also increased across the country.
The growth stands out because Apple products remain expensive for many Indian buyers, especially when the country’s average annual income stays below $3,000. Apple sells the entry-level iPhone 17 for Rs 82,900 in India, which is higher than its $799 starting price in the United States.

High import duties and local taxes continue to raise prices, even though Apple now manufactures a large number of iPhones in India. The company works with banks and retailers to offer credit card discounts, exchange deals and monthly payment plans that make its devices more accessible.
India becomes a bigger market for Apple
Apple spent years building its presence in India, where iPhone sales once made little difference to its overall business. The opening of official Apple Stores, stronger online sales and wider premium smartphone demand have helped the company expand quickly.
Around one in four iPhones are now reportedly made in India, although many of those devices are shipped to the United States. Apple has increased production in India as it reduces its dependence on China and adjusts its supply chain around changing trade policies.
