All the changes in iOS 27 beta 5
Apple has not published a detailed list of new user-facing features specifically added in beta 5 yet, so the update currently appears focused on bug fixes, stability, performance improvements, and continued refinement of features introduced in earlier iOS 27 betas. The current developer release notes still primarily document changes from earlier beta builds.
Here are the major iOS 27 features currently being tested:
- Siri AI: Siri gets richer conversations, personal context, on-screen awareness, broader knowledge, and the ability to perform more actions inside apps.
- Dedicated Siri app: Users can return to previous Siri AI conversations and continue interactions from a dedicated app.
- New Siri interface: Siri receives an updated visual experience that works with the Dynamic Island on supported iPhones.
- Visual Intelligence improvements: Siri can work with visual information, including a dedicated Siri mode inside the Camera app.
- Liquid Glass controls: iOS 27 refines the Liquid Glass design and adds more control over interface transparency.
- Faster performance: Apple has worked on app launch speeds, Photos loading, AirDrop transfers, Camera launch performance, and transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
- Photos improvements: New tools include additional organization and editing features as Apple expands intelligence features throughout Photos.
- Messages changes: Apple continues improving messaging tools and system intelligence inside the Messages app.
- AirPods controls: iOS 27 adds more audio customization options for compatible AirPods, including custom EQ controls.
- Apple Intelligence across apps: New intelligence features extend into Safari, Passwords, Mail, Phone, Shortcuts, Home, and other parts of iOS.
We’ll have a clearer picture of beta 5 once testers spend more time with the build and uncover smaller interface changes or fixes.
