Apple has released the fifth developer beta of visionOS 27 for Apple Vision Pro, giving developers another version to test ahead of the software’s wider release later this year. The new beta arrived on August 10 with build number 24M5348b.
The fifth beta follows visionOS 27 beta 4, which Apple released on July 20. Apple continues to refine the operating system as testing moves closer to the final release.

How to Update to visionOS 27 Beta 5
Developers already enrolled in the visionOS beta program can install the latest update directly from Apple Vision Pro.
- Open the Settings app on Apple Vision Pro.
- Select General.
- Tap Software Update.
- Select Beta Updates.
- Make sure visionOS Developer Beta is enabled.
- Return to the Software Update screen and download visionOS 27 beta 5 when it appears.
Apple Vision Pro needs sufficient battery power and should remain connected to power during the installation. Users also have to remove the headset while the software update installs.
All Changes in visionOS 27 Beta 5
Apple has not detailed any major new user-facing features specifically added with visionOS 27 beta 5 so far. The latest build appears focused mainly on bug fixes, stability improvements, and additional work on features introduced earlier in the visionOS 27 testing cycle.
The broader visionOS 27 update includes several major additions:
- Siri AI: visionOS 27 introduces Apple’s upgraded Siri experience, including a dedicated Siri interface and stronger contextual capabilities.
- Visual Intelligence: Vision Pro can use visual intelligence to help answer questions about content in the user’s physical and digital surroundings.
- Curved windows: Apps can support curved virtual windows that wrap content around the user’s field of view. Safari, Freeform, and Apple TV Multiview are among the supported experiences.
- Immersive panoramas: Panoramic photos can become more immersive spatial environments when viewed through Vision Pro.
- Redesigned Control Center: Control Center uses a revised layout that separates notifications and media playback, system controls, and environments.
- Improved notifications: Users can expand notifications simply by looking at them.
- New widget size: An extra-small widget option provides more flexibility when placing widgets around a workspace.
- Faster Wi-Fi connections: visionOS 27 includes improvements designed to make supported Wi-Fi connections significantly faster.
More beta-specific changes could surface as developers spend additional time testing the fifth build.
Apple is expected to continue releasing visionOS 27 betas before the final version arrives later this year. Developers should expect additional bug fixes and performance improvements as testing progresses.
