The latest beta focuses heavily on performance, Siri AI, and smaller improvements throughout iOS. Here are some of the notable changes:
- Faster iPhone performance: Apple continues to improve app launches, Lock Screen switching, system animations, Safari performance, AirDrop transfers, Camera launch times in Low Power Mode, and transitions between Wi-Fi and cellular networks.
- Siri AI improvements: Siri AI remains one of the biggest parts of iOS 27, with personal context, on-screen awareness, deeper actions inside apps, richer conversations, and a dedicated Siri app for continuing conversations.
- More Siri voice controls: Apple continues expanding customization for Siri’s new voices as it tests the redesigned assistant ahead of the final release.
- Better Spotlight suggestions: Spotlight now provides more relevant search suggestions, which should make apps, files, contacts, and other results easier to find.
- Faster AirPlay connections: Connecting an iPhone to an Apple TV or HomePod through AirPlay should now take less time.
- Safari improvements: Apple has improved Safari start page loading, web app performance, and power efficiency.
- Photos upgrades: The Photos app gains improvements for album organization, Shared Albums, slideshows, keywords, and other photo management features.
- Messages improvements: Messages syncing has been refined, failed messages can automatically retry, and recent camera captures load faster when attaching them to conversations.
- Smoother unlocking and scrolling: Apple has improved iPhone unlocking as well as scrolling in areas such as the App Library and widget gallery.
- Battery and efficiency work: The beta includes better battery insights and several power-efficiency improvements across Safari, Camera, networking, and other system functions.
iOS 27 remains in beta, so Apple will continue fixing bugs and refining performance before the software reaches all compatible iPhones.
