Apple has added the iPhone X and the 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro to its obsolete products list, ending official hardware service for two devices that played important roles in the company’s recent product history.
The iPhone X launched in November 2017 and introduced several major changes to Apple’s smartphone design, including an OLED display, Face ID, and a nearly edge-to-edge screen with a notch. Apple also removed the Touch ID home button, which changed how users navigated iOS and unlocked their phones.

Apple considers a product obsolete once more than seven years have passed since the company stopped distributing it for sale. Once a device reaches this status, Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers no longer offer hardware repairs or replacement parts for it.
Apple stopped selling the iPhone X in September 2018, although some third-party retailers continued offering remaining stock for a longer period. The phone later received iOS 16 as its final major software update before Apple ended support for newer iOS versions.
The iPhone X also introduced a glass back and stainless steel frame, giving it a more premium design compared with earlier models.
The 2018 15-inch MacBook Pro has now joined the same obsolete list, which means Apple has also ended official hardware service for that model.
