Walter Boys S3 ending explained
Jackie and Cole finally explore a real relationship during Season 3, following their love confession at the end of Season 2. However, Cole’s insecurity eventually destroys what they have.
Eliot, Jackie’s childhood friend, tells Cole that Jackie has bigger ambitions and deserves someone who can fit into the future she wants. Richard also questions Cole’s influence on Jackie. Cole believes them and ends his relationship with Jackie in Episode 7 without explaining the real reason.
Cole then throws himself deeper into racing, while Jackie focuses on getting the community center ready for its opening. When problems threaten the event, Cole quietly helps organize the people needed to save it. Jackie eventually learns what he did and sends him a message thanking him.
That message changes everything.
What happens to Cole in the finale?
Cole realizes that breaking up with Jackie was a mistake and decides that she should make her own decision about their relationship. He leaves an important race and drives toward Jackie’s party, planning to tell her that he still loves her.
Danvers Stacey follows him because Cole abandoning the race costs them prize money. Danvers deliberately bumps Cole’s car, sending it off the road and causing it to roll several times.
Season 3 ends without revealing Cole’s condition. His survival is therefore one of Season 4’s biggest questions, although Noah LaLonde’s involvement in the new season gives viewers good reason to expect Cole’s story to continue.
Does Jackie end up with Eliot?
Jackie does not officially choose Eliot in the finale.
During the community center party, Jackie dances with her longtime friend and begins enjoying herself after weeks of heartbreak. Eliot then kisses her, catching Jackie by surprise. The season cuts away before viewers see how she responds.
The timing makes the scene especially important because Jackie has no idea that Cole has just crashed while trying to reach her.
Where Season 3 leaves everyone else
Alex also enters another complicated triangle after kissing Kiley, who is dating Dylan. Alex later goes to Kiley’s house intending to admit that calling their kiss a mistake was itself a mistake, but Dylan appears and stops the conversation. Danny and Erin remain together after Danny gives her his pinky ring as a sign that he remains serious about their engagement.
George, meanwhile, survives the medical emergency that ended Season 2 and continues recovering with help from the Walter family.
Season 1 ended with Jackie leaving Silver Falls after kissing Cole, while Season 2 ended with Jackie admitting she loved him as George suffered his medical emergency. Season 3 pushes that relationship further before separating them again at the worst possible moment.
With Cole’s condition unknown, Jackie facing Eliot’s kiss and Alex finally confronting his feelings for Kiley, Season 4 already has several major questions to answer. What do you think Jackie will do after learning about Cole’s crash, and who do you want her to end up with? Let us know in the comments.
