Bad Monkey is returning to Apple TV for season 2, with Vince Vaughn back as Andrew Yancy in another Florida crime story from creator Bill Lawrence. The new season premieres on December 2 and continues the darker comedy style that helped the first season stand apart from Lawrence’s other shows.
Season 2 will begin with its first episode on Wednesday, December 2, followed by weekly releases through February 3. The series comes from Lawrence, whose recent television work also includes Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Rooster and several earlier comedy hits.
Bad Monkey Season 2 Plot
The new season follows Yancy after he witnesses the murder of a well-known Florida fixer, which pulls him into another complicated investigation while he continues trying to regain his detective badge. An ambitious state attorney pairs him with a forensic accountant, and their investigation soon leads into a conflict between rival criminal groups.

Yancy also crosses paths with several new and returning characters, including a powerful mob boss, his unstable son and a young woman who needs protection. At the same time, he deals with his aging father and unresolved feelings for Dr. Rosa Campensino, played by Natalie Martinez, who starts investigating a mysterious rash on her own.
The season also adds an environmental storyline involving an animal relocation specialist whose business creates problems for the local area, giving Yancy another strange Florida personality to deal with while the main murder case develops.
Vince Vaughn returns in the lead role, while John Malkovich joins the season 2 cast alongside Natalie Martinez and other returning characters. Bad Monkey keeps the crime, comedy and darker tone that made the first season different from Ted Lasso and Shrinking, giving viewers another Bill Lawrence series with a sharper edge.
