Episode 8 left Juliette in serious trouble after Camille anticipated the attempt to reach Judicial and forced her to surrender to protect Shirley. At the same time, Patrick Kennedy discovered more about the Safeguard system and the toxic pipe that can destroy the population, putting the race to disable it at the center of the final two episodes.

One major theory is that Camille’s announcement will publicly reveal part of the truth about the Safeguard. Her position has changed considerably, and keeping thousands of people under control becomes harder once she understands that the system itself can kill everyone.

Another possibility is that someone will be sent outside during a cleaning. Promotional material has led viewers to speculate that Bernard, Robert Sims, or another major character could leave the silo in Episode 9. Some fans believe Bernard could sacrifice himself while Juliette’s allies use the ceremony as a distraction to reach and disable the toxic pipe.

The secret elevator could also become important. Knox and the others have already uncovered hidden infrastructure inside the silo, and viewers are increasingly expecting it to provide another route toward Judicial or the Safeguard system.

What does “Farewell” mean?

The episode title could also point toward Daniel and Helen rather than someone in Silo 18.

Season 3 has gradually shown how the silos were created centuries before Juliette’s story. Episode 8 revealed more about the threat from nanotechnology and the plan for a network of 50 silos. Daniel and Helen previously rejected the idea of joining the underground project.

However, Episode 9 places them at a mysterious “special event.” Current fan theories suggest that the event is a tour or presentation connected to the silos, with promotional images appearing to show Daniel and Helen together during this period. Some viewers also believe Helen’s pregnancy could influence their decision about entering the project.

“Farewell” could therefore mark humanity’s final days in the old world before the catastrophe that forced people underground.

How Season 2 led to this point

Season 2 expanded the story beyond Silo 18 after Juliette discovered other silos and learned how badly previous rebellions had ended. Her return changed the balance of power, but Season 3 introduced another problem when she came back with memory loss while the silo struggled to recover from rebellion.

With only Episode 9 and the September 4 finale remaining, Juliette now has very little time to stop the Safeguard and uncover who ultimately controls the silos.
