Duke and Zeek begin the episode looking for Kingsley while tensions with the Russians continue to rise. Their search takes them to a Russian bathhouse, where Duke delivers a brutal warning by forcing a man’s head onto a hot sauna burner. It shows how far Duke is now willing to go as his revenge plan becomes increasingly violent.
The casino explosion from Episode 3 has also changed the situation for the Marshalls. Cebella publicly addresses the attack, while she and Zeek prepare for retaliation. Duke secretly created much of this chaos himself, hoping the pressure would eventually force Kingsley out of hiding.
Before this, Episode 3 saw Duke and Lazaro plant the casino bomb as part of that plan. Duke also grew closer to the Marshall family while reconnecting romantically with Joy, giving him access to information he needs for his revenge.
Joy asks Duke to leave everything behind
Joy reaches her breaking point in Episode 4 and tells Duke that she wants to leave with him and Aiden. Duke refuses because he remains committed to bringing down Kingsley, although Joy does not know the full extent of his plan.
Their conversation ends badly, with Joy telling Duke that their relationship is finished. Meanwhile, Duke spends time with Kim, who is secretly working undercover. Duke eventually learns the truth about her and realizes that her position could become useful to him.
Is Duke Aiden’s father?
The final minutes change Duke’s story completely. The Russians attack the gym while Jackhammer is being interviewed, Gazzer is stabbed, and Sergei enters Cebella’s home and kidnaps Aiden.
A terrified Joy immediately calls Duke and tells him that “they’ve taken our son,” apparently revealing that Duke is Aiden’s father. However, Deborah Ayorinde has already suggested that viewers should not assume Joy’s statement settles the question, leaving room for another twist later in the season.
Episode 4 leaves Duke facing a much bigger problem than revenge against Kingsley. Aiden’s kidnapping has brought the gang war directly into his family, setting up another dangerous confrontation when Fightland returns with Episode 5 on August 28.
What do you think Joy’s revelation means for Duke, and who do you think Aiden’s father really is? Let us know in the comments.
