Apple has released macOS 27.2 Golden Gate developer beta 1 to registered developers. The update carries build 26B5086k. Apple’s release notes focus on two known Mac issues and StoreKit Testing changes for developers rather than a new user-facing feature.
Back up a Mac before installing pre-release software. Apple recommends using beta software on a secondary system, device, or Mac partition, rather than a machine required for everyday work.
How to update to macOS 27.2 beta 1
- Open the Apple menu and choose System Settings.
- Select General in the sidebar, then choose Software Update.
- Click the information button next to Beta Updates and select macOS 27 Developer Beta if necessary.
- When macOS 27.2 beta appears, click Update Now and complete the onscreen installation steps.
All changes in macOS 27.2 beta 1
- Notification permission issue after a clean install: Apple says some apps, including Calendar, Maps, Find My, Home, and Weather, might not ask for notification permission after a clean installation.
- Shortcuts known issue: Describe a Shortcut can fail with a “Something went wrong. Try again later.” message.
- StoreKit Testing fixes: Apple lists fixes to introductory-offer eligibility, storefront and locale changes, and purchase dialogs in the Xcode test environment. These are developer-testing changes, not a list of fixes for Mac apps.
- StoreKit Testing known issue: purchasing a subscription bundle member can allow an unbundle action instead of showing the expected error in testing.
