Amazon has reduced the base M5 Max Mac Studio to $2,299.99 during its October Prime Day sale. The price is nearly $200 below Apple’s $2,499 list price and the lowest widely reported price for the model since its September launch.
The Amazon listing applies to the standard M5 Max configuration with 36GB of unified memory and a 512GB SSD. Price and availability can change during the sale, and the discount may depend on the selected seller.
Apple introduced the current Mac Studio in August and began general sales on September 22. MacObserver’s launch coverage details the M5 Max and M5 Ultra configurations.

What the discounted configuration includes
The base system includes Apple’s M5 Max chip, 36GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage. It supports Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and targets demanding creative, development and local AI workloads.
Buyers should verify memory and storage before ordering because higher configurations can look similar in search results but carry different prices. The desktop also does not include a display, keyboard or mouse.
At $2,299.99, the retail price is effectively the same as Apple’s education price for the base model, without requiring education eligibility. That comparison does not include any potential education promotion or retailer card reward.
The discount is most relevant to buyers already planning to purchase the new model. Prime Day labeling does not guarantee that the price will remain the lowest indefinitely, so the current listing should be checked again before checkout.
