Furious is officially returning for Season 2 after its first season ended with a major change for Alice Black and a clear path for the story to continue. Hulu renewed the Emmy Rossum-led crime thriller before the Season 1 finale arrived on August 31.
The eight-episode first season became a growing hit for the streamer after premiering in July. Viewership for Episode 7 was reportedly 40 percent higher than the premiere based on one-day viewing, giving Hulu another reason to continue Alice and Catherine’s complicated story.

Where Furious Season 2 could take Alice

Season 1 begins with FBI agent Alice Black investigating a series of murders committed by Catherine Grace. Catherine targets men connected to the abuse she and her friend Isabel suffered, while Alice gradually discovers that her connection to the case runs much deeper than she initially understood.
The finale finally reveals what happened to Isabel. After Jay Easton badly injured her and refused to get her proper medical help, Isabel asked Catherine to end her suffering. Catherine gave her a fatal dose of heroin but later suppressed the memory.
Alice also crosses a line that completely changes the possibilities for Season 2. She privately kills Jay by blocking his oxygen supply after he recognizes her as one of his victims. Catherine eventually ends up in prison, while Alice returns to the FBI carrying knowledge that could send her down a much darker path.
Season 2 has already been set up
The final scene offers the biggest clue about what comes next. Alice discovers information connected to the people who downloaded footage of her childhood abuse, which had circulated tens of thousands of times. She now has potential targets linked directly to what happened to her.
That creates an interesting reversal for Season 2. Alice spent the first season chasing Catherine while struggling to understand her methods. After killing Jay herself, Alice now understands the temptation to seek justice outside the law.
A Season 2 premiere date and episode count have not been announced yet, although Emmy Rossum is expected to remain central to the story. Creator Elizabeth Meriwether has also indicated that there is much more to explore with Alice following the finale.
