Apple Developer App Gets Liquid Glass Redesign And New Features Ahead of WWDC 2026

Apple has released version 11.0 of the Apple Developer app just weeks before WWDC 2026 begins on June 8. The update introduces Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language, giving developers an early look at the visual direction expected to shape iOS 27 and other upcoming software releases.

The redesign is immediately noticeable through the refreshed app icon. Apple has replaced last year’s stylized “bread sticks” look with a cleaner icon inspired by the original App Store tools, including the pencil, ruler, and brush. Inside the app, the interface now uses translucent layers and floating UI elements that match the broader Liquid Glass aesthetic Apple has been pushing across its platforms.

Apple describes Liquid Glass as a dynamic material that reflects and refracts surrounding content while keeping apps more immersive and responsive. The design language first appeared with iOS 26 and is expected to evolve further with iOS 27 at WWDC 2026.

What’s New in Apple Developer 11.0

The latest update adds several practical improvements alongside the visual redesign:

  • Refreshed Liquid Glass interface
  • New filtering options for Unwatched, Bookmarked, and Downloaded sessions
  • Topic-based filtering improvements
  • Better reliability for image capture during enrollment
  • General bug fixes and performance enhancements

Apple has also refreshed the app’s animated iMessage sticker pack for WWDC 2026. One of the new stickers celebrates Apple’s upcoming 50th anniversary.

The timing of this update is notable because Apple typically uses the Developer app as the central hub for WWDC sessions, labs, videos, and announcements. That means this redesign is likely one of the clearest previews yet of the visual changes developers can expect during the keynote.

The Apple Developer app is available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. WWDC 2026 runs from June 8 through June 12 and will once again stream online for free.
