Apple Hires Former Google VP Lilian Rincon to Lead AI Product Marketing

Apple Intelligence China Launch Looks Closer After New Feedback Form

Apple has hired longtime Google executive Lilian Rincon as its new vice president of Product Marketing for AI, strengthening its leadership around Apple Intelligence and Siri as the company continues to push deeper into artificial intelligence across its ecosystem.

Rincon will lead both product marketing and product management for Apple’s AI platforms, and she will report directly to Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, which places her role at the center of how Apple presents its AI strategy to users and developers.

Rincon spent nine years at Google, where she most recently served as vice president of product management and led global teams working on Google Shopping and Google Assistant, giving her direct experience in scaling AI-driven consumer products used by millions.

Before joining Google, she worked at Microsoft and Skype, which adds more depth to her background in communication platforms and software services that rely heavily on intelligent systems.

Her move follows Apple’s recent hiring of Amar Subramanya, another former Google executive who now serves as vice president of AI under Craig Federighi, showing a clear pattern as Apple builds a stronger internal AI leadership team.

Leadership changes continue

Apple has also reshaped its AI organization in recent months, including the departure of John Giannandrea from his role as senior vice president of Machine Learning and AI Strategy, which signals a shift in how the company structures its AI efforts.

Rincon confirmed her departure from Google in a LinkedIn post, where she reflected on her time at the company and hinted at her next step.

“After nine incredible years at Google, it’s time for my next chapter. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with some of the most talented people in the world and to help build products that impact billions. Leaving is never easy, and I feel a mix of gratitude and bittersweetness as I close this chapter, while feeling incredibly excited about what comes next.”

That “next chapter” now places her at Apple during a critical phase as the company works to define how Apple Intelligence and Siri evolve in a fast-moving AI market.
