Apple Kicks off Four Day Lunar New Year Sale in China With Big Discounts

Apple is rolling out a short Lunar New Year sale in China to keep demand strong during the holiday shopping period. From January 24 to January 27, buyers can get discounts of up to 1,000 yuan on a wide range of Apple products, depending on the model and configuration.

The South China Morning Post reports that the offer aims to attract shoppers during a busy retail season while also helping Apple stay competitive against local brands running aggressive holiday deals.

What Apple is offering

Apple will apply different discount levels based on the product and how customers pay. The company lists a long lineup of eligible devices across its online store and retail locations.

These products qualify for the promotion:

  • iPhone 16, 16 Plus, and 16e
  • Macs such as MacBook Air M4, MacBook Pro M4 and M5, Mac mini, and iMac
  • iPads including iPad Pro M5, iPad Air M3, iPad A16, and iPad mini A17 Pro
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3, Series 11, and SE 3
  • AirPods 4, AirPods 4 with ANC, and AirPods Max
  • Apple Pencil Pro

The discounts only apply when customers use select payment options, including Alipay, WeChat Pay, and some Chinese bank cards.

Rules and limits

Apple has added a few conditions to keep the sale under control. Each customer can buy up to two discounted units in each product category. Store stock is limited, and Apple will not let shoppers combine these deals with other offers such as employee, education, or business discounts.

There is one key exception. Customers in China can still use Apple Trade In on eligible devices and get additional value on top of the Lunar New Year discounts.

The promotion comes at a time when Apple wants to protect its recent gains in China. iPhone shipments in the country rose 28 percent in the final quarter of 2025, helped by strong demand for the iPhone 17 lineup. Even though the iPhone 17 models do not participate in this sale, Apple is using the event to boost sales of iPads, Macs, and wearables.

At the same time, the wider smartphone market in China has slowed. Shipments fell in late 2025, and analysts link the drop to higher prices and tight component supplies. Government subsidies also favor phones priced under 6,000 yuan, which gives many local brands an edge over Apple’s higher-priced Pro models.

By cutting prices on older and mid-range devices during the Lunar New Year, Apple is trying to stay visible and appealing while shoppers look for better value.
