Apple has released a new beta firmware update for AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max 2, giving developers and public beta testers another build ahead of the iOS 27 launch next month.

The latest firmware carries build number 9A5347a and replaces build 9A5336b, which Apple released around two weeks ago. All supported models use Apple’s H2 chip and can install the new beta through the AirPods settings menu on a compatible Apple device.

The firmware adds support for AirPods changes coming with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate, including a redesigned AirPods interface, a new Adaptive mode slider, custom EQ support, and compatibility with Apple’s updated Siri AI features.

Users running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 and later can enable beta firmware from the AirPods settings screen after connecting their headphones to the device.

Unlike iPhone or Mac updates, AirPods do not include a manual software update button. Users need to connect the AirPods to an Apple device, keep them near the device, and connect them to power while the firmware installs automatically.

Apple continues testing these updates before iOS 27 arrives, while additional AirPods features could also appear around its September event.
