Apple Wallet Car Key Expands to Toyota, Rivian, More Brands

Apple continues to expand car key support in Apple Wallet with iOS 26, adding more vehicle brands and models. The feature allows users to unlock and start their cars using an iPhone, moving Apple closer to replacing physical keys and wallets.

Apple has worked on car key support for years, but progress depended on partnerships with automakers. The rollout has been slow, but recent launches show stronger momentum.

Toyota introduced Apple Wallet car key support in February with the 2026 RAV4. This marked the company’s first step into Apple’s digital key ecosystem.

Rivian followed with its own rollout in late December. The feature is now available on second generation R1S and R1T vehicles. These updates bring two major automotive brands into Apple’s growing list of supported partners.

Apple had earlier announced that several brands planned to support car keys. Now, more companies are moving closer to launch.

Porsche confirmed that it will introduce car key support in its 2026 electric Macan and Cayenne models. The Macan is already open for orders, with deliveries expected this spring, while the Cayenne will arrive later.

General Motors is also preparing to add support across its brands.

Apple added General Motors to its backend system last year, which indicated future support. Later, the company confirmed that car key integration is on the way for Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC vehicles.

This expansion shows that more automakers are aligning with Apple’s ecosystem. Apple still relies on partners to enable the feature, but adoption is improving.

With more brands expected to join, Apple Wallet car keys are slowly becoming a standard feature in modern vehicles.
