Meta Tests Instagram Plus With Paid Features and Private Story Viewing

Instagram Says “No Breach” After Suspicious Login Warnings

Meta has started testing a paid version of Instagram called Instagram Plus in select markets. The move is part of its broader plan to introduce premium services across its apps, including Facebook and WhatsApp. The new subscription offers additional features aimed at improving user control and insights.

TechCrunch reports that Instagram Plus is currently available in countries such as the Philippines, Japan, and Mexico. The subscription costs around $2 per month in these regions. Meta has not confirmed when the service will expand to other markets, including the United States.

TechCrunch reports, “Among the premium features on Instagram is the ability to view a Story without the poster seeing that you viewed it and the option to see how many people have rewatched your Story.”

The feature allows users to view Stories privately without leaving a trace. At the same time, it provides more detailed insights into how Stories perform.

Instagram Plus also introduces tools that go beyond privacy. Users can create audience groups separate from followers and Close Friends. This gives more control over who sees specific content.

The service also extends Story visibility beyond the usual 24 hours. In addition, users can search through Story viewer lists to find specific accounts quickly.

Meta continues to test Instagram Plus, and the final feature set may change before a wider rollout. The company appears focused on adding tools that attract both regular users and content managers looking for deeper engagement insights.
