More Apple Subscriptions Are Coming and ‘Creator Studio’ Shows What Is Next

Apple 'Creator Studio' Brings Pro Creative Apps Into One Subscription

More Apple subscription are coming, and this time the shift runs deeper than just one new service. Over the past year, Apple has moved steadily toward selling software features in bundles instead of shipping everything as part of the device. The launch of Apple Creator Studio last month made that clear, and new reporting now suggests this is only the beginning.

Mark Gurman confirmed that Apple plans to expand this strategy across more apps and services. In his latest Power On newsletter, he wrote:

“There’s still a lot more to come, though. I believe Apple is looking at all areas of its software and services with an eye to adding both more bundles and paid upgrades.”

This means iPhone, iPad, and Mac users should expect more premium software tiers that sit on top of what Apple already sells.

Why Apple is pushing more subscriptions

The growth of AI inside Apple’s apps gives the company a strong reason to charge more. Apple Creator Studio already offers AI image and slide generation through OpenAI, and Apple is also rumored to be working on an AI powered Health+ service. These features require cloud computing, which costs money to run, so Apple now prefers a subscription model instead of free upgrades.

At the same time, Apple has already trained users to pay monthly. iCloud storage still starts at only 5 GB for free, a limit that has not changed since 2011. Many users now pay every month just to keep backups, photos, and messages synced.

The risk of going too far

Apple One has shown that bundles can feel fair when priced well. But Creator Studio also added paid-only tools inside Pages, Keynote, and Numbers, apps that were once fully free. Some features like Image Playground and Magic Fill already feel locked behind a paywall.

If too many Apple apps turn into upsell platforms, the premium feel of Apple software could fade.

Current Apple subscriptions

Here are the main Apple subscriptions available today:

  • iCloud+ storage plans
  • Apple Music
  • Apple TV
  • Apple Arcade
  • Apple Fitness+
  • Apple News+
  • Apple One bundles
  • Apple Creator Studio

More Apple subscription are coming, and Apple is now building its future around recurring software revenue instead of one-time upgrades.
