If you use X Pro to monitor multiple social feeds, your daily routine just got a lot more expensive. The platform shifted its popular dashboard tool behind a brand-new paywall. Without giving any prior notice to users, the company restricted access exclusively to its Premium Plus subscribers. People who relied on the standard eight-dollar monthly plan suddenly found themselves completely locked out of the system today.
There’s a steep price hike with zero warning
Before Elon Musk bought the platform, this multi-column layout was known as TweetDeck and was completely free for everyone. Even after the initial site rebrand, the tool stayed available to anyone paying for the standard Premium membership. Now, the cost to access it has jumped to $40 a month, or $395 a year. That makes the service five times more expensive than it was just a few days ago.
Many power users discovered the sudden change only when they tried to log in and received a prompt asking them to upgrade their plans. The official help center now confirms that the dashboard requires the highest subscription tier.
While the Premium Plus plan does remove ads and offers a few extra perks like article writing, the sudden restriction left many longtime fans frustrated. The company notes that subscription features can change at any time, but pulling a popular tool without a quick heads up caught a lot of people off guard.
