The iPhone is still the big guy on campus in the news world, but that doesn't mean it's the only topic worth discussing. This week, Jeff and Bryan analyze Apple's increasing dominance in the flash memory market, what analysts are saying about Apple's growth, the company's changing position in the corporate world, and what's in store for the iPod.
The Apple Weekly Report will be included in TMO's main RSS feed, and also in its own feed if you'd like to add it directly to your podcatching client.

Observer Comments
Although brought to the forefront of this week's news, driven by Gene Munster's recent comments, this is rather old news. Rather than the multi-quarter agreements cited, these may actually be multi-year agreements.
Refer to the middle of page 69 of Apple's FY2006 SEC Form 10-K filing. You'll find a section with the heading "Purchase Commitments with Contract Manufacturers and Component Suppliers".
The second paragraph of this section notes:
"During 2006, the Company entered into long-term supply agreements withHynix Semiconductor, Inc.,
Intel Corporation, Micron Technology, Inc., Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., and Toshiba Corporation to
secure supply of NAND flash memory through calendar year 2010. As part of these agreements, the
Company prepaid $1.25 billion for flash memory components during 2006. These prepayments will be
applied to inventory purchases made over the life of each respective agreement."
