Both HBO Max and Disney+ saw a huge increase in downloads of their respective apps on the back of big-name film debuts. Bloomberg News reported that, according to Apptopia data, a record estimated 244,000 users signed up to AT&T’s service on Sunday.
HBO Max and Disney+ Hit Download Records over Holidays
In total, 554,000 users are estimated to have signed up to the streamer following Friday through Sunday on the back of the release of Wonder Woman 1984. Disney+, meanwhile, had around 2.3 million global installations of its mobile app over the Christmas holiday, according to Sensor Tower.  That marked a  28 percent increase from the weekend before, comes in support well-received movie Soul.
