Amazon announced Wednesday that it is purchasing Wondery. There had been speculation as to who would acquire the podcast maker – at one point Apple was considered to be in the running.
Wondery Joining Amazon Music
Wondery will officially become part of Amazon Music. A statement about the deal said:

When the deal closes, nothing will change for listeners, and they’ll continue to be able to access Wondery podcasts through a variety of providers. With Amazon Music, Wondery will be able to provide even more high-quality, innovative content and continue their mission of bringing a world of entertainment and knowledge to their audiences, wherever they listen.
The podcast service is known for creating a variety of original true-crime shows like Dr. Death. The announcement did not reveal the value of the deal. However, previous reporting placed it at around $300 million.
