On the current models, Apple separates the aluminium frame from the Ceramic Shield 2 glass cutout used for MagSafe charging. This results in a visible colour difference between the two materials, creating a subtle two-tone look. The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models are said to eliminate this variation by refining the way the back glass is fitted and coloured.

Weibo-based leaker Instant Digital claims that Apple has updated the glass “replacement process” for the iPhone 18 Pro series. The change reportedly reduces the contrast between the glass and the frame, producing a smoother, more consistent finish. The leak suggests Apple aims for a design that feels more polished and less segmented when viewed from any angle.

This rumour ties in with another claim from leaker Digital Chat Station, who mentioned in September that the new Ceramic Shield could feature a slightly transparent look. Together, the two reports hint at subtle but deliberate refinements rather than a complete redesign.

Instant Digital has shared accurate Apple information in the past, such as the Yellow iPhone 14 finish. Still, the account’s record isn’t flawless, so Apple’s final design plans for 2026’s iPhone Pro lineup remain to be confirmed.
