Reports about Johny Srouji planning to leave Apple spread quickly over the weekend, but the company’s chip chief has now addressed the speculation. He told his division that he intends to stay at Apple and continue his work. His message settles the uncertainty around one of Apple’s most important leaders.
Although the weekend story suggested he was thinking about moving to another tech firm, Srouji chose to speak directly to his team to clear the air. He highlighted his commitment to the work and the people he leads. This clarification arrives at a time when Apple’s hardware teams face major long-term projects.
The leaked internal memo includes a response from Srouji himself.
“I know you’ve been reading all kind of rumors and speculations about my future at Apple, and I feel that you need to hear from me directly,” he wrote. “I love my team, and I love my job at Apple, and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”
What the Memo Reveals
In a separate report, Bloomberg said Srouji previously told Tim Cook he was seriously considering a departure. The memo now signals that he has chosen to stay and continue leading Apple’s hardware technologies group.
He also praised the wide range of technologies his teams build, from displays and cameras to sensors, chips, and batteries. According to him, these efforts power every major Apple product and keep the company’s roadmap on track.
“Together we enable the best products in the world.”
