Spotify started rolling out music videos to Premium users in the United States and Canada. The feature is in beta, but you can try it now if you have an active subscription. The company says the experience feels simple because videos play inside the Now Playing screen.
A separate update explains that the early catalog includes artists such as Ariana Grande, Olivia Dean, BABYMONSTER, Addison Rae, Tyler Childers, Natanael Cano, and Carín León. Spotify says the catalog is limited for now and tells users to “stay tuned” because more videos will arrive over the coming months.
Another update highlights that the feature works across TV, desktop, iOS, and Android. You open a supported song and tap the “Switch to video” button that appears above the track title. The song restarts with the video, and on phones, you can rotate the screen for full landscape playback.
How the feature works
Spotify explains that Premium subscribers can explore videos through the Now Playing view, artist pages, and playlists based on genre or era. You scroll down to find Related Music Videos or open the Music tab on an artist profile.
The company first introduced music video support in March 2024 in select markets. Video support on Apple TV arrived later with a redesigned app. Spotify now says all Premium users in the U.S. and Canada will get access by the end of the month.
Steps to watch videos
- Open Spotify on your TV, desktop, iOS, or Android device.
- Play a supported track.
- Tap “Switch to video.”
- Rotate your phone for a full-screen experience if needed.
- Tap “Switch to audio” to return to background listening.
