Apple introduced Apple Creator Studio, a new subscription bundle that combines six creative apps with extra AI features and premium content. In the U.S., it costs $12.99 per month or $129 per year. Apple will offer a one-month free trial, and the bundle launches on the App Store on Wednesday, January 28.
Apple also says you will still find one-time purchase options for several Mac apps. At the same time, Apple plans to keep separate “versions” of each app for purchase and for subscription, though the exact split is not fully clear yet.

Pricing, trials, and who gets the student plan
The Company will sell Apple Creator Studio at two price tiers:
- U.S. price: $12.99 per month or $129 per year
- College price: $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year
Apple says new subscribers get a one-month free trial. Apple also says customers who buy a new Mac or a qualifying iPad with an A16, A17 Pro, or M series chip or later can get a three-month free trial.
What you get in the Apple Creator Studio bundle
Apple Creator Studio includes six apps:
- Final Cut Pro on Mac and iPad
- Logic Pro on Mac and iPad
- Pixelmator Pro on Mac and iPad
- Motion on Mac
- Compressor on Mac
- MainStage on Mac
Apple says subscribers also get exclusive AI features and premium content not only across those apps, but also across Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and Freeform later this year.
One-time purchases stay on the Mac, not the iPad
Apple says the Mac versions of these apps will remain available as one-time purchases:
- Final Cut Pro: $299.99
- Logic Pro: $199.99
- Pixelmator Pro: $49.99
- Motion: $49.99
- Compressor: $49.99
- MainStage: $29.99
For iPad users, Apple says the apps are only available through the Apple Creator Studio subscription.
Pixelmator Pro arrives on iPad for the first time
Apple’s announcement also brings Pixelmator Pro to iPad for the first time, with a touch-focused workspace and Apple Pencil support. Apple acquired Pixelmator in November 2024, and this marks the biggest visible step since that deal.
Apple calls the bundle “a groundbreaking collection of powerful creative apps designed to put studio-grade power into the hands of everyone.”
New features coming to Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro
Apple says each app gets new features as part of the launch. Here are the headline additions.
Final Cut Pro on Mac and iPad
- Transcript Search: type a phrase to find the right soundbite in long footage
- Visual Search: search for an object or action, then pull that moment into your timeline
- Beat Detection: Final Cut Pro analyzes a track and shows a Beat Grid for quicker music synced edits
Final Cut Pro for iPad
- Montage Maker: automatically builds a video from the best moments, with pacing controls, music syncing, and smart reframing for vertical video
Logic Pro on Mac and iPad
- Synth Player: a new AI Session Player for chord and synth bass parts
- Chord ID: turns audio or MIDI into a chord progression
Logic Pro for Mac
- New Sound Library: Apple and Producer Packs with royalty-free loops, samples, patches, and drum sounds
Logic Pro for iPad
- Quick Swipe Comping: faster vocal and take comping
- Natural language search: describe a loop or find similar loops using Music Understanding tools
iWork and Freeform get subscriber-only AI tools
Apple says Pages, Numbers, and Keynote will stay free for core work, but Apple Creator Studio will unlock a new Content Hub and extra AI-powered tools for image creation and editing.
Apple says subscribers get “curated, high-quality photos, graphics, and illustrations” through the Content Hub.
Also, the subscription unlocks features in beta for Keynote, including first draft creation from an outline, presenter notes generation, and slide cleanup for layout and object placement. In Numbers, Magic Fill can generate formulas and fill tables based on pattern recognition.
Apple also says Pages, Numbers, and Keynote “will remain free for all users to create, edit, and collaborate with others.”
