iOS 26.4 beta 1 introduces a useful update to Personal Hotspot that helps you track exactly how much data each connected device uses. If you depend on your iPhone’s hotspot for work, travel, or backup internet, this change gives you clearer visibility without digging through multiple menus. Apple now shows per-device data usage directly inside the Personal Hotspot settings.
Many users rely on a hotspot to connect an iPad or MacBook when WiFi is not available. At the same time, limited data plans make it important to monitor usage carefully. Until now, iOS did not make this information easy to find, especially on a per-device basis. With iOS 26.4, Apple simplifies the process and places the details where you expect them.
This new section appears at the bottom of Settings > Personal Hotspot, but only after you have recently used the hotspot feature. Once you open Data Usage, you will see a breakdown of how much data each connected device consumed through your hotspot.
How to Check Hotspot Data Usage in iOS 26.4
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Personal Hotspot.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Data Usage.
- View the per-device data breakdown.
If you want to reset the numbers, go to Settings > Cellular and reset your overall cellular usage statistics. This clears the hotspot data tracking as well.
This update makes hotspot management more practical, especially if you share your connection with other people or multiple devices. Instead of guessing which device used the most data, you now see the exact figures in one place.
