Apple continues work on its rumored smart home device, widely referred to as the HomePad, and new details suggest the product will include a magnetic snap-to-wall feature designed to mount the device quickly while keeping it easy to remove and reposition inside the home. The device is expected to act as a central hub for smart home controls, media playback, communication, and glanceable information such as weather updates and calendar reminders.
The HomePad reportedly features a compact design built around a 7-inch square display and a front-facing camera, which would allow users to handle video calls, check notifications, and interact with Apple’s smart home ecosystem from a single screen placed on a wall or stand.
Leaker and prototype collector Kosutami shared the latest information in a post on X after reportedly seeing a prototype device.
It (might) features MagSafe like snap-to-wall feature according to one specific revision of the ongoing prototypes I’ve got seen in person. As what I said, it can rings your door. And highly Apple Intelligence integration featured also.
Reported features include:
- Magnetic snap-to-wall mounting similar to MagSafe
- Integration with smart doorbells
- Heavy reliance on Apple Intelligence
- 7-inch square display with front camera
- Centralized control for smart home devices, music, and video calls
Current reports place the launch window in fall 2026, which means Apple could introduce the device during its typical September to October product cycle alongside major hardware releases.
