General Motors is pushing out a new software update that adds a dedicated Apple Music application to several of its Buick and GMC vehicles. This move comes a few months after the automaker released the same feature for its Cadillac and Chevrolet models. If you own one of the supported vehicles, the music app will just show up automatically on your dashboard screen without you having to manually download anything.

The newest expansion covers several recent models. For Buick drivers, the application is arriving on the 2026 Enclave and the 2026 Envision. On the GMC side, it covers the 2025 and 2026 versions of the Acadia, Canyon, Sierra EV, Terrain, and Yukon. The 2026 Hummer EV also gets the update.
General Motors says this expansion means the Apple Music application is now sitting in about 1.2 million vehicles on the road right now. For new buyers, audio streaming features are included for eight years through the standard OnStar connection plan.
GM is making up for the loss of Apple CarPlay
This native application feels like an olive branch to drivers who are upset about the company removing Apple CarPlay from its newer electric vehicles. Three years ago, the automaker decided it would slowly abandon phone mirroring systems to build its own software experience. While having a built-in music player is nice, it only solves one small part of the problem.
Drivers are still missing out on other popular tools like Apple Maps, podcast players, and all the third-party phone applications that a mirrored connection normally brings to a dashboard.
