Apple TV has released the trailer for The Dink, its upcoming sports comedy starring Jake Johnson as a former tennis prodigy who finds himself pulled into the world of pickleball after an injury changes his plans.
The film premieres exclusively on Apple TV on Friday, July 24, and follows Dusty Boyd, a washed-up tennis player now coaching children at his father’s suburban country club. Dusty wants his father’s approval, so he joins his fight against pickleball, which has started taking over the club.
The movie features a strong cast, including Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen, Ed Harris, Patton Oswalt, Chloe Fineman, and Ben Stiller, who also produced the film.
As Dusty recovers from an old injury, he begins playing pickleball and slowly starts enjoying the sport with help from his new partner, Candace. The story then turns into a funny and personal fight over family, identity, and the future of the club.
