iPhone 18 Pro Models Could Cost Up to $200 More, Analyst Predicts

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could see a much bigger price increase than previously expected, as higher component costs continue to affect the company’s hardware lineup. A new analyst prediction now suggests that buyers may have to pay up to $200 more for Apple’s next premium iPhones.

According to IDC, Apple was previously expected to increase iPhone 18 Pro prices by around $100 and raise base model prices by $50. However, after Apple recently increased Mac and iPad prices by as much as $300, IDC now believes the iPhone 18 Pro lineup could receive an even larger price hike.

IDC Senior Director of Data & Analytics Nabila Popal believes Apple may increase iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max prices by as much as $200 because of the ongoing global memory supply crisis. The company expects both Pro models to feature 12GB of RAM, and rising memory costs continue to push up production expenses across Apple’s devices.

If that happens, the iPhone 18 Pro could start between $1,249 and $1,299, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could begin between $1,349 and $1,399. IDC also expects Apple’s foldable iPhone to launch at around $2,500, with higher storage options reaching nearly $3,000, which could help balance pricing across the rest of the iPhone lineup.

IDC also believes the higher prices will not significantly affect demand because many users with an iPhone 15 or older are expected to upgrade for Apple’s new Siri AI features. The firm adds that Pro Max buyers generally focus on premium features, while monthly installment plans also reduce the impact of a higher upfront price.
