tvOS 27 and HomePod 27 Public Betas Are Now Available: Here’s What’s New

tvOS 27

Apple has released the first public betas of tvOS 27 and HomePod Software 27, allowing users to test the updates before their full release this fall. The beta software brings performance improvements, faster AirPlay connections, Apple Music upgrades, and several smaller changes.

The updates remain in testing, so users may experience bugs, slower performance, or problems with some apps and accessories. Installing the beta on a secondary device is safer.

How to Install the tvOS 27 Public Beta

tvOS 27 supports the Apple TV 4K 2nd generation and newer models. Apple TV HD and the first-generation Apple TV 4K are not eligible for the update.

  1. Enrol in the Apple Beta Software Program using the Apple Account connected to your Apple TV.
  2. Open Settings on your Apple TV.
  3. Select System.
  4. Open Software Updates.
  5. Select Get Beta Updates.
  6. Choose tvOS 27 Public Beta.
  7. Select Download and Install.

Keep the Apple TV connected to power and the internet until the installation finishes.
