The popular music streaming platform Spotify dealt with a messy double outage on Monday, leaving thousands of listeners in absolute silence. Fans quickly noticed issues across various devices and completely lost access to basic controls. The repeated crashes prevented people from logging into accounts, searching through libraries, or actually playing any tracks.
The streaming service goes down twice in a single day
The first wave of problems appeared early Monday morning. Listeners reported that the desktop application, mobile app, and web player were all acting up. The tech team recognized the glitch and managed to clear things up about an hour later. However, that fix did not last very long.

Just after 3 PM Eastern Time, a second wave of technical trouble hit the platform. This time, the focus landed mainly on the web page and app connections. During this second drop, the error tracking site Downdetector saw more than 7,000 complaints from people unable to hear their music.
The official Spotify support team posted updates on social media, letting users know they were looking into the web page problems. Finally, around 6 PM Eastern Time, the company sent out an all-clear message. While the platform is currently running normally again, the company has not shared what caused the two separate crashes.
