What happens in Women in Blue Season 2?
Spoiler warning for Season 1 details and the official Season 2 setup.
Season 2 begins with María in a very different position inside the police department. She has now been promoted to lieutenant, giving her more authority while placing greater pressure on her to follow the institution’s rules.
The new case begins after investigators discover the body of a student activist. María and the Azules soon find evidence connecting the murder to the 1968 student massacre, and the discovery of another body linked to that period pushes the investigation into a wider conspiracy. Someone appears to be targeting people connected to the events of the past, leaving the team to determine who is responsible and why.
Where the story left off
The first season introduced María, Ángeles, Gabina and Valentina as members of Mexico’s first female police force. Their unit was initially treated largely as a publicity effort while a serial killer known as the Undresser remained active, but the women eventually started investigating the murders themselves.
Season 2 moves their story forward while keeping the pressure inside the police department. María, Ángeles, Gabina and Valentina will deal with problems both inside and outside the precinct as their investigation uncovers buried secrets and corruption.
Bárbara Mori returns as María alongside Natalia Téllez as Valentina, Amorita Rasgado as Gabina and Ximena Sariñana as Ángeles. Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappán, Horacio García Rojas and Bruno Bichir are also part of the cast.
Women in Blue Season 2 starts August 12 on Apple TV, with a new episode arriving each Wednesday until September 30. With María now leading from inside the department and a murder investigation tied to events from 1968, the Azules have another complicated case waiting for them.
