ChatGPT is rolling out a deeper Google Drive integration that lets paid users add Drive files to their ChatGPT Library, ask questions about them, and edit supported documents directly inside the chat. The update reduces the need to move between ChatGPT and Google apps when working with files stored in Drive.
ChatGPT Consumer Product Lead Adam Fry announced the update on X, explaining that users can add Google Drive files by selecting the + button beside the prompt field and choosing “Add from Library.” Once added, ChatGPT can use those files as context for questions, summaries, edits, and other document-related tasks.
The integration also lets users open and edit Google Drive files without leaving the conversation, while still keeping the option to open the same file in its original Google app, including Google Docs or Google Sheets.
Fry later clarified that ChatGPT edits the actual file stored in Google Drive rather than creating a separate static copy based on the original document. That makes the feature more useful for users who want to continue working on the same file across ChatGPT and Google Drive.
ChatGPT also added new quiz and recommendation features
Alongside the Google Drive update, ChatGPT has introduced an interactive quiz tool that can generate multiple-choice questions on a selected topic, complete with question navigation and hints.
Fry also highlighted ChatGPT’s Yelp integration, which supports restaurant bookings and waitlists, as well as a new feature for paid users that provides higher-quality suggestions directly from the ChatGPT home page.
These additions expand what paid ChatGPT users can do without leaving the service, especially when working with documents, studying, or handling everyday tasks.
