WhatsApp is working on expanding its Liquid Glass design to more parts of the iPhone app, with the drawing editor and video player now expected to receive the updated look in a future release. The company has already introduced the design across several areas of WhatsApp for iOS, but some interface elements still use the older visual style.
WABetaInfo reports that the changes appear in WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.33.10.18, which is available through TestFlight, although the new Liquid Glass elements are still under development and cannot be tested yet.
Drawing editor and video player are next
WhatsApp plans to update the buttons inside the drawing editor, which users see when editing photos, videos, and GIFs before sending them. Buttons for adding text, drawing, stickers, and other editing tools will eventually use the translucent glass-style appearance already found across other parts of the app.

The company is also preparing a Liquid Glass redesign for the video player’s progress bar, which appears at the top of the screen while a video is playing. The change should help the video player match the rest of WhatsApp’s updated iOS interface.
WhatsApp has gradually expanded Liquid Glass across the chat list, Updates tab, sidebar, navigation elements, and conversation screen since Apple introduced the design language with iOS 26. The chat interface also gained a floating translucent message bar and a transparent navigation area with a blurred background.
The latest changes remain under development, and WhatsApp has not announced when beta testers or regular users will receive them. The company is also bringing the same visual direction to its iPad and Mac apps as it continues updating its interface ahead of iOS 27.
